April 2023: Tips, eNews & More!

As we welcome the arrival of April, we can feel the freshness in the air and spring blossoming all around us. The birds are chirping and the flowers are starting to bloom, signalling that winter is finally coming to an end. April brings with it a renewed sense of energy and a feeling of hope as we move forward into the second quarter of the year.

April is a time of great celebrations for many cultures and faiths, including the long weekend of Good Friday followed by Easter, from April 7th to 10th, Eid ul Fitr on April 21st, and Passover, which runs from April 5th to April 13th. These are all big events for the Christian, Muslim, and Jewish communities, respectively, and great opportunities to get together with friends and families to celebrate these important religious and cultural holidays.

April is also Oral Health Month and a great time to review how to maintain good oral health, and schedule a spring cleaning for your teeth. This month, we want to highlight one of the most common oral health problems: Periodontitis (Gum Disease). Read the article below to learn more about how you can protect your teeth and prevent gum disease.

Have a safe and healthy month,

How to Fight Gum Disease

As April is Oral Health Month, it is an excellent opportunity to remind ourselves about the importance of the health of our teeth and gums in relation to our overall health. In particular, we would like to focus on one of the most common oral health issues: Periodontitis (Gum Disease). According to the Canadian Dental Association, 7 out of 10 Canadians will develop gum disease at some time in their lives, and the risks can increase with age. However, the damage can be stopped if periodontitis is treated early and proper oral hygiene is maintained.
